| Mission Statement |
Established
in 1999 and located near Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA, the Greater Boston
Buddhist Cultural Center is a branch of Fo Guang Shan (Mt. Buddha's Light)
Monastery in Taiwan with 200 worldwide affiliates.
We embrace the vision of our founder, the Venerable Master Hsing Yun, to
disseminate Buddhist values for the benefit of humanity. We strive to serve
our congregation and our community by providing educational opportunities,
sponsoring cultural events, engaging in charity work, and conducting
devotional and meditation services. Guided by the principles of "Humanistic
Buddhism" and Buddhist Pure Land ideals, our ultimate goal is to foster peace
and harmony among all beings.
